Metals trader Agora to protect whistleblowers through anti-retaliatory and confidentiality policy

May 1, 2026

Agora Prime Metals Trading, based in the Dubai Multi Commodities Centre (DMCC), has adopted a Whistleblowing Policy, under which it established confidentiality mechanisms and absolute anti-retaliation protections to individuals reporting on a broad range of misconduct.

The policy aligns with UAE law and voluntarily incorporates the elevated standards of the EU Whistleblowing Directive (Directive (EU) 2019/1937). It grants reporting protections to employees, interns, contractors, suppliers, clients, and external job applicants. Individuals can report reasonable, good-faith suspicions without needing absolute proof of wrongdoing.

Agora Prime enforces an absolute prohibition on retaliation, banning actions such as dismissal, demotion, salary cuts, blacklisting, or workplace isolation. Retaliators face immediate disciplinary action, including potential termination.

The company's Designated Whistleblowing Officer will acknowledge receipt of a report within seven days, and will carry out a preliminary assessment, normally within one to two weeks, to determine whether a formal investigation is warranted.

Confirmed misconduct will result in internal disciplinary measures, procedural overhauls, and reporting to relevant legal authorities.
