UAE-based metals trader Agora Prime Metals Trading has published its Data Protection Policy which will guide its employees, clients, contractors, and third-party vendors to safely handle personal data.
The new framework is designed to align with UAE Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021 on Personal Data Protection while adopting international standards, such as security-by-design and data minimization.
Personal information will be processed strictly on clear lawful bases, including legal obligations, contractual necessity, or explicit consent.
As outlined in the policy, Agora Prime mandates data encryption both at rest and in transit, multi-factor authentication, intrusion detection systems, and role-based access limits.
Additionally, individuals are granted explicit rights to access, correct, port, or request the deletion of their personal information, with the company committing to a standard 30-day response window.
Governance is maintained by a newly appointed Data Protection Officer and a cross-functional Data Protection Committee. In the event of a security breach, an incident response team will contain it, and handle mandatory notifications to affected parties and UAE regulatory bodies.
